Frequently asked questions about boat care
When should I apply antifouling paint?
Antifouling can be applied at any time – many choose to paint the hull straight after hauling out in autumn so it's ready for launch. The most important thing is that the temperature is at least 10–15°C during application, that the hull is clean and well sanded, and that the paint is fully dry before launching.
How often do I need to polish my boat?
It depends on how much the boat is used and how it's stored, but a thorough polish before the season and a protective treatment before hauling out gives the best protection.
What should I keep in mind when treating teak?
Always start with cleaning (step 1) before applying oil or treatment. Work on dry wood and avoid direct sunlight during application.
