All types of winches require regular maintenance. Lewmar winches are very easy to service and can be serviced without tools. Winches are often subjected to fairly high loads. Regular service with checking the condition of the various parts of the winch and accuracy during assembly is essential for safety and the function of the winch.

Recommended service intervals
Two or more times during the sailing season. The winch is dismantled, cleaned and lubricated. After each sailing season and before each new season, all winches should be completely disassembled, cleaned, carefully checked for damage and lubricated.
